Word of Life Tabernacle sends optional text message (SMS) notifications to members of our congregation who ask to receive them. This page explains exactly how a member opts in.

What we send

Notice that a new service recording has been published.
Notice that a new event has been posted (only the event types the member selects).
Notice that a new music album has been published.
A reminder before a singing appointment (a “special”) the member is scheduled for.

We do not send marketing, advertising, or promotional messages, and we never use purchased or shared lists. Message frequency varies, typically a few messages per week.

How a member opts in

Opt-in happens only inside the member’s own account on our member website, and takes two deliberate steps:

The member signs in and opens their Profile page, then enters their own mobile number in the Mobile Phone field. Adding a number does not enroll them in text messages.
Under Notifications on the same page, the member ticks the box “Send me text message (SMS) notifications.” The box is unchecked by default, and is never pre-selected.

The following consent statement is displayed directly beside the checkbox:

I agree to receive recurring text messages from Word of Life Tabernacle about new services, events, and albums, and reminders for specials I am scheduled to sing. Message frequency varies. When the member saves, we record the opt-in with the date and time. Consent records are kept for at least four years.

Opt-in on the Word of Life Tabernacle member website (Profile › Notifications). The SMS checkbox is unchecked until the member ticks it.

Stopping messages and getting help

Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving texts; you will receive one confirmation and nothing further. Members may also untick the SMS box on their Profile page at any time. Reply HELP for help, or email info@wolt.ca.
