Privacy Policy
Word of Life Tabernacle (“we”, “us”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what we collect through this website and our member website (together, the “Service”) and how we use it.
1. Information we collect
- Account information: name, username, email address, and password for members.
- Profile information: address, profile photo, and other details a member chooses to provide.
- Mobile phone number: if a member adds one to their profile.
- Usage and device information: pages visited, features used, browser and device type.
2. How we use information
- To operate the member website and manage accounts.
- To send notifications a member has chosen to receive (push, WhatsApp, or text message).
- To respond to questions and provide support.
- To keep the Service secure and comply with the law.
3. Text messages (SMS)
We send text messages only to members who have ticked the SMS opt-in box on their Profile page, as described on our Text Messages page and in our SMS Terms and Conditions. Message frequency varies; message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties. The exclusions in this paragraph apply to all of the sharing described in Section 4.
SMS opt-in records are kept for at least four years.
4. How we share information
We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information. We share information only:
- With service providers who operate the Service on our behalf (for example, hosting and message delivery), solely to provide the Service to you and never for their own marketing. This does not include SMS opt-in data or consent, which is not shared with any third party (see Section 3).
- When required by law or legal process.
- To protect the safety and rights of our members, our church, or the public.
5. WhatsApp
Members who choose WhatsApp notifications receive them from our verified WhatsApp Business account, operated by Meta Platforms, Inc., and subject to WhatsApp’s own privacy policy. Members may opt out by replying STOP, by blocking our account, or by emailing info@wolt.ca.
6. Data retention and security
We keep personal information only as long as needed to provide the Service or as required by law, and we use reasonable safeguards to protect it.
7. Your choices
Members may update or remove their information, including their phone number, from their Profile page, or ask us to access, correct, or delete it by emailing info@wolt.ca.
8. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
9. Changes
We may update this policy; changes are shown by the “Last updated” date above.
